Former Benin President, Boni Yayi whose residence has been under police surveillance for three weeks, lodged a formal complaint for mental torture with the ECOWAS Court.
According to sources close to the former leader, this case against the Benin State was filed with the ECOWAS Community Court of Justice on May 17th, 2019, using the urgency procedure on the grounds of an alleged mental torture and human rights abuses imposed on him
For the record Boni Yayi, whose residence has been surrounded by security forces since May 1st, 2019, claims that he is not allowed to receive visits from his friends or his family.
