Former Benin Official: Patrice Talon is not “invincible”

In an interview published by Jeune Afrique, former Finance Minister, Komi Koutche expresses his views on the sociopolitical situation in Benin. Having been in exile for the past few months, following proceedings brought against him by the government for alleged public funds mismanagement, the ex minister discusses the political crisis in his country and stresses that he will continue to lead the battle for the restoration of democracy.

Following his victory against the Benin authorities in the extradition case brought against him before the Spanish courts, Komi Koutche  continues to denounce the actions of the Talon administration, especially the parliamentary elections of April 28th,2019  that led to violence and loss of human life.

According to the former Benin official, it is possible to force the government to back down in its attempt to destroy democratic achievements .

Komi Koutche stresses that all democratic means will be used to bring back the democratic model and that Patrice Talon must be aware that he is not  “invincible”.
