Export of Honey

This sector will be reorganized with more opportunities for stakeholders. The Government intends to ensure that Benin complies with the provisions of the European Commission on the export of honey to the European market. Due to the lack of  monitoring of  residues of veterinary  medicines in products of animal origin, Benin had not been meeting the requirements of the European Commission since 2011. However, the country is now complying with the standards set by the European Union  and since February 15, 2018, Benin is among six countries authorized to export animals and products of animal origins  to the European Union.
